Roderich Kiesewetter
was born in Pfullendorf in southern Baden in 1963 and graduated from high school in Ellwangen in 1982.
At that time, he already gained his first political experience in the SMV and the Schülerunion, founded a city youth ring and a local group of the International Society for Human Rights.
After graduating from high school, he joined the German Armed Forces and studied economics in Munich and in Austin/Texas, graduating with a degree in business administration.
Until his election to the Bundestag in 2009, he was able to gain experience in the Balkans and Afghanistan, among other places.
Especially stations at NATO in Brussels and at the Aufbau-Ost of the German Armed Forces in Thuringia were important stages in his life. The service for our country in uniform has meant a lot to him!
In 2009, he left the Bundeswehr as a colonel in the General Staff Service to continue his service in civilian society in the future.
As a member of parliament, he represents his home country during the weeks when the Bundestag is in session in Berlin; otherwise, he is intensively on the road in his constituency, taking care of the diverse affairs of local citizens.
In the Bundestag, he is, among other things, the representative for foreign policy in the Foreign Affairs Committee for his parliamentary group.
