Dr. Ronen Eidelman is an artist, designer, and researcher from Jerusalem. His research focuses on surveillance, technology and society, public spaces, digital culture, contemporary art, and the relationship between them. As the founder and director of the Institute for Positive Technology, an independent activist research institute, Ronen critically examines the role and applications of surveillance and digital technology in society. He is also the co-founder and chief editor of Erev Rav, a media platform focusing on art and culture. With a rich background in publishing and editing various periodicals, magazines, and political and artistic books, Ronen actively bridges culture, technology, and politics. He holds a Ph.D. from the Faculty of Architecture and Town Planning at the Technion Israel Institute of Technology and a Master’s degree from the Public Art and New Artistic Strategies Program at Bauhaus-Universität Weimar, Germany. Currently serving as a Postdoctoral Researcher at BGUrban lab at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, Ronen also teaches at the Negev School of Architecture. In addition to his role in academia, Ronen works as a graphic designer in the artistic sector and civil society. |
