Olena Tregub

 

 

Olena Tregub is the Secretary General and Executive Director of NAKO (the Independent Defense Anti-Corruption Commission), leading
efforts to promote transparency, good governance, and anti-corruption reforms in Ukraine’s defense and security sectors.

 

 

Under her leadership, NAKO has played a key role in addressing corruption risks, strengthening export controls, and exposing the flow of
Western components to Russia, Iran, North Korea, and China.

She serves on the Anti-Corruption Council of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense, ensuring oversight of wartime defense spending, and
coordinates the Public Council on Sanctions under the President’s Office, working to refine Ukraine’s sanctions policies. Additionally, she is a Steering Committee member of B4Ukraine, advocating for the withdrawal of international businesses from Russia, and a
board member of Hromadske TV, one of Ukraine’s leading independent media outlets.

Previously, Olena held a senior government Economic Development and Trade, where she managed over $12 billion in international
assistance projects, ensuring transparency and accountability. Before returning to Ukraine, she worked in the U.S. for over a
decade, including at the United Nations in New York and various policy think tanks in Washington, D.C.

A recognized advocate for Ukraine, she has represented the country in high-level discussions with U.S. Congress, the White
House, and the European Parliament, highlighting security threats posed by authoritarian regimes. Named one of Ukraine’s
100 most influential women by New Time Magazine, Olena holds degrees from the Central European University and the Fletcher
School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University.
