Patrick Breyer – Pirate Security Conference

Patrick Breyer (* 1977) is a civil rights activist and a German politician and lawyer of the Pirate Party Germany. From 2012 to 2017 he was a member of parliament in Schleswig-Holstein and from April 2016 until the end of the legislature also chairman of the faction of the Pirate faction. In the 2019 European elections Breyer is the top candidate of the Pirate Party Germany. His theme for the PSC 2019 is the safety awareness in Europe:

“Feeling safe is an important prerequisite for our personal well-being. Research results show, however, that the high level of safety in Europe is widely unknown and that the risk of crime is in some cases grossly overestimated. In which ways can we strengthen safety awareness and provide factual information on crime risks in order to counter distorted assessments and descriptions of the security situation?”
